The Choice is Yours

Fear

We let it control us, demotivate or expose us,

But why? We fear fear itself, it is the driving factor from us acting upon or watching from the sideline, too afraid to control a feeling so deeply engraved in us.

Walking into a school where I didn’t know the name of a single sole,

Meeting new people who spoke a different accent, who mocked your own,

And then expecting to accept my new life and home,

I truly feared that day, and when it happened it I got what was coming for me…

Texas to Ireland, I’ll never forget it, but I’m glad it happened,

For fear no longer plays the role in my life it once did...

A sole searcher when asked will tell you fear is a mindset,

A mindset that manipulates, contemplates, meditates, and eliminates dreams,

So engraved in us as a child… don’t go over there! don’t touch that! don’t talk to them!

Humans so advanced and yet so afraid are the ones who will never accomplish,

We are born with two fears, loud noises and falling, and yet we develop thousands, and why?

We let fear infiltrate our mind when it is at its youngest and most vulnerable, and it stays in there for as long as we allow it,

Eliminating fear is not an overnight change, you cannot change your life outlook in a day,

But you can choose to try and understand why it controls us.

Until then, we will continue to have a greater fear of standing in front of a group of people or admitting something to others, then we will of dying alone…
