1 Timothy 4:12

12 Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word,

in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity.

The best teacher is possibly a child … from the crib until …

Word after word we’ll grow into a pattern

Smiling and crying ... or dancing in the sun

Seldom then heard the hunger for silence

As childhood is vying until our youth seems gone

Sparsely slowing down to smell the roses

Life is like a flower blooming in the heart

Opportunity’s given crown that in overdoses

Relentlessly showers blessings from the start

To be young again and to understand it

Would remove the hunger to become an adult

Childhood is meant for you just to absorb this

And to smile at danger with assurance as result

Maybe growing up removes the entire luster

Maybe life itself rests on the faith of a child

Maybe to mature becomes a mental cluster

And adulthood to be considered “running wild”

Surely old and wise has an amount of glory

Surely young and wise has true Life in Hand

Surely all the foolish have age attached to gory

As children of the Light just see the Promised Land
