When kids tell others about their hopes and dreams.
They tell you the most wild, outrageous things.
Astronauts, princesses, and superheros is what they want to be,
but parents and teachers tell the children to put away their childish dreams.
The children grow up to be teens and few have their childish imagination.
Thinking of their childhood heroes with unthinkable admiration.
Then as adult they forget what their dream even was to be;
never striving for their dreams, staying still just like a tree.
One day the adults have kids of their own.
They are reminded of a time long ago.
A time of hopes, wild, and outrageous things.
A time filled with childish dreams.
