Childhood Extinct

I look back
think about how we
all grew up too fast
used to be
playing in the rain
making paper airplanes
and coloring outside the lines
but we lost track of time
seems like a millennia
since we were kids thinking
what's yours is mine
it's not distinct in
a second we blinked
and the
old tire swings in the playground
the box of crayons on the floor
searching for fireflies
with the spirit to explore
those little kids we used to be
carefree and full of glee
have gone extinct
in the second that we blinked
