From a Child Into a Grown Up

My glow up
To a grown up
Wasn't a gradual grow
It was the involvement of a storm
One that I couldn't control
I was pushed into a situation
Full of so much frustration
Between multiple parties
Looking for a separation

I had to take charge
To make sure things wouldn't fall apart
In a home full of sadness
With bad news that seemed endless
It was then that I knew
I couldn't be acting like a child without a clue
I had to make sense of a situation
Full of so much devastation
There was no time to take a gradual grow
Into someone mature looking to gloat
About my experiences and achievements
That truly seemed so meaningless
When everything was falling apart at its seams

I learned how to take care of others
When people were treating them like bothers
I learned how to be responsible
Allowing for new ideas to be possible
I learned how to take charge
Even when a situation felt too large

Yet that is my story
On how I went from a child to a grown up

This poem is about:
Me
My family
