chatter

what happens when you have no more words to say?

nothing you can say?

you desperately grapple for something, anything:

weather/food/school/life

so much pointless chatter

filling up the empty space

the gaps in conversation glaring

a society wide failure

just like this poem...

what is the point

of this rambling rant?

silence.

silence is the point.

the quiet closing in

crawling down my throat

choking back the words

making my tongue heavy

lips numb.

I can feel it coming

fight

fight

 many words

afraid

of silence

end

of my voice

silent past

creeping back

talk

and chat

and sing

and scream

and gasp

for breathe

silence

strangles

 words

I long

to form

syllables

 can

no

longer

speak.

all

gone
