The Chase

Like a dog who chases after his tail, I chased after you.

I know it was something different for you but just like you, I was scared too.

I don't know if I was Scared of getting hurt again or scared to find what I've been looking for, but when I looked in your eyes , I just saw someone I wanted to get to know more.

Someone who had a story to tell and I was going to listen and if you didn't want to talk you'd write it down & I'd read it.

I wanted to know things like your favorite genre of fiction, or

how well can you use your diction to express your feelings.

I don't know, I just wanted to be something different.

I just wanted to be someone different for you but instead, I was made out to be the fool. Instead, you let your fear be at the center of your heart.

You let your doubts and fears tear what we could've been apart

and that hurts ...

To think that I wasn't worth being put first.

To think that to you it was just a game or to you I was just a lame or that your feelings simply weren't the same.

But in all, I am the only one to blame because

Like a dog who chases after its tail, I chased after you

Being made a fool because instead of falling in your arms I was left standing there alone & confused
