The Charm of a Fickle Star

Sun, 02/02/2020 - 21:04 -- jars13

Inconsistent little bugger,

one night here the next elsewhere.

While I lock eyes with the North Star

I barely catch others there.

Innocent in flare, youthful in passion.

Shimmers with wisdom, makes time its fashion.

I gaze at it's halo and through it I see,

That this little bugger is no better than me.

Never know where it goes when others shine brighter.

But the sky feels empty when the it's not there to light her.

In a way, I must say I know I'm not as luminous and free.

But with a smile, I know I'll shine and no matter where my place may be.
