We danced in the rain

soaking wet

We were bathed by the heavens

We mastered the slides

and slid down the slopes

shouting

"I am queen!"

as the water moved us much too fast

I landed on my feet

She landed on her ass

and so we laughed

We left our makr

with muddy feet

We left our traces for the world to see

We escaped into the woods

barefoot

We embraced nature

fearless

We embraced ourselves

So it goes

So we were

We are for the first time free

Let's race a glass to long nights alone

short nights at home

and walks in the rain

when it all means so much more
