Chance

Predicaments and foresight,

They say it’s possible, right?

It’s weird, I’m now carefree,

Did my luck change, or is it just me?

A new world, a new life,

Stopped riots and trouble and strife.

I’m smiling, living the day,

Honestly, it just doesn’t seem okay.

I’m not surviving, I’m actually living,

My heart and mind no longer misgiving.

I’m starting to doubt, did I drink a potion?

Which makes me void of emotion?!

An elixir of happiness, a brew of peace,

A concoction victimizing you to caprice.

Yet again, I think it’s unfair,

The loser can’t be a good winning player.

But I’ll take my chance, I’ll live this day,

Put all my sorrowful worries away.

All deserve a chance, I think it’s time,

Mine just came with an awkward chime.

So smile, to you I’ll say,

Live this day by being gay,

Your wishes will one day be a sight,

And I promise till then it will be alright.

Maybe they won’t become true,

But it’s your destiny, and in lieu,

Something better will come your way,

So chin up and put your worries away.
