To the Centennials from Gorbachev

In the ages since the reigns of Tsars
And after Stalin’s rule of the USSR
Following Khrushchev, Brezhnev, Andropov
Came I, the last Cold War Head of Gov

Go and help me set the truth free
Opaque policies given transparency
Really I’ll do it if you support me
Bringing back civil rights and liberty
And I’ll be triggering Stalin’s ghost
Caring for my Soviets via Glasnost
Huh oh no there’s dissent in my Politburo
Eight Gang wants to retain states in Euro
Vacate my office the Union’s now dissolved

Remember me for my good I was Gorbachev
I ripped apart the Iron Curtain
Led my people through a time uncertain
My efforts tore down the Berlin Wall
But I failed to prevent my nations fall
