Cavernous Dreams

Sat, 08/19/2017 - 15:59 -- RoryNC

The cavernous souls of my dreams

Trickle out in tiny streams.

They seep into my mind,

Some of them not so kind.

They invade, destroy, shatter,

Reduce everything to a tatter.

But others, light like a whispy breeze,

Leave me on my knees

Because of how stunning

How perfectly cunning

How gorgeously open and free

They always seem to be.

Oh, dear God who created all that gleams:

How I wish I were like dreams.

That way, I could soar

And never face a bore.

I’d be open like a cavern,

And like a mighty crystal wyvern,

I’d fly,

And watch as the nightmares pass by
