I live in
A parking lot
In the quiet corner of rosemary hill
I am guided and parked always
27 lines down from the first spot
Which makes my space the 14th of the lot
But I am not very particular about this
It happens that I spend a lot of time here
When I’m not being driven or directed
My days are spent lazily loitering
But my nights, oh my nights!

Sundown brings anxiety and anticipation
And I am unusually spry
And when nightfall comes my soul is set on fire
My attention is baited and lead
Like a mouse to a trap and its
Caught every time the streetlights go out
At the far end of the lot
She enters
A 2010 Streamline
Porsche Carrera
Candy apple red in color
The finest car I ever did see
Comes and parks (Gasp) right next to me
If I had a mouth to speak, my love, my dearest
I would ask you to flash your lights
I would tell you that
The steady purr of your engine
Makes me swoon
You put the crank in my crankshaft
The positive to my negative battery
My wiper blades swish to keep my windshield spotless
So you can see how I see you- flawlessly
You keep my timing belt on a perfect attendance record
My odometer ticks backwards
So I can get back every mile I wasted without you
I’d tell you I want to run for mayor
Just so I can make the day the assembly plant created you a national holiday
I’ll make this lot an international landmark
And all the highways in the world were built for your grace
To complete them
Oh how I want to be the oil
Flowing trough your pockets
I will be comfy in your combustion chambers I promise
Caressing your compression rings
Being pounded by pistons,
I want to be violated by your valves
Both intake and outtake strokes…
I want to drive your engine temperature so high
That your dash lights come on
All but your antilock system brake light
Because I’d never want you to hit the brakes on what we’re feelin
I would break If I had a wish
Broken into metal fragments
To prove my usefulness
Weld me into your frame
So I may admire your structure
Fasten me into your throttle body
so I breathe when you breathe
Hold me into the halogen of your headlights
so that I may be your vision
tress me to your tires
So I may go where you go
solder me to your suspension
so I can support you always
Latch me to the locks so that I may
Keep your heart with me always
Fit me into the fuel tank
And make every Mile per gallon count
Ratchet me into your radio
And I’ll be your favorite song

Don’t hide behind
The tint in your purple shaded windows lovely,
Rest your weariness
For though our chemistry’s uncanny
Like R.E.M. I do believe in strange occurrences
Let’s wish on a mazzy star tonight
So I can fade into you
Or if you want, you can pour some sugar on me
What you hear of how I feel is real Darling
Trust in the truth of my transmissions
Trembling cannot falter
Our Tale of transcendence
Every second since my creation has brought me
To This night

My beloved, blink your lights
Roll down your windows so that we
May share the same breath of wind
Flash your lights,
answer yes
and I’ll show you the world at its best
Resting beside each other
In the light of the moon
Together, forever,
In this lot
