carry on

carry on through the rain

when the storm doesn't cease to pound

ravenously on your bare back in the middle

of nowhere

carry your head high

when ropes from hell tie themselves to your chin

and the demons that seem to be closest to you

yank them down

carry your sanity in your soul

even when the scissors of society

threaten to snip the last last thread

you agonizingly hold onto it by

carry your love in your arms

when the dead dreams and hopelessness come like hungry wolves

brutally shredding your skin and snapping your ribs to splinters

in a gruesome attempt to consume your heart

carry on when mere seconds are left

when your pale fingers shiver in icy cold sorrow

carry on and realize that happiness is not the destination

but the journey.
