Carried Away
I fell
And when I hit bottom
It hurt
Water created waves
Against the cobble wall
The beat of her wings
Matched the throbs in my flailing arms
Her flight dodged the fallen rain
Nearer still I could tell she was
Different
Grabbing hold of my body
She took me into space
The stars blinded me
Closing my eyes I felt the heat
But not of stars or nebula
Of the Sun’s depravity upon soil
Continuing on she left me
To save another from drowning
In the well
Her fleeting call reminded me
To stand up on my feet
And take my first breath
