Captain Of My Sea

I am the captain of my sea

A sea that’s filled with goals and dreams

Each grain of sand is a crumbled nightmare

Shells represent the fear I have

The ocean is every tear I’ve dropped

Salty, happy, sad. It makes up the waves that come and pass.

Every day I sail on my boat, which is made of past troubles and wishes.

The treasure I protect is a chest locked with rope

Inside are kept memories: some bad, some good, some new, some old.

The wheel is my heart, my soul is my hat

The uniform I wear represents who I am.

Each creature that swims by are people who’ve come and passed

Their faces forgotten, they also forget mine

They won’t help me at all; they won’t guide me in any way

So I take on the wheel without fears in the way

I guide myself through every bad storm

Knowing it will pass and make my sea grow

Sometimes I’ll fall right out of my precious boat, and sink to the bottom

I’ll stare at the wounds I’ve made once myself

And wear the scars proudly on my skin

Then I swim right up because of how stubborn I truly am

Because I am the captain of my sea

A sea that’s filled with my goals and dreams
