Can't Break Me

You can say you're sorry all you want.
It's not going to matter; you did your damage.
You just proved my point:
There's no one I can trust.
Family is no longer a must.
You let me down
and made me frown.

You can't break me.
No matter what you do.
You may be shady,
you may try to play me.
But I'm going to stand and fight.
Push you away with all my might.
Getting rid of the negative;
You're no longer my relative.

I might be scared.
I might be broke.
But you showed me I can't come to you for hope.
Kicked me when I was down;
now you're the one on the ground.
You ask me for help,
though all I can do is walk away.
You're starting to fray.
How does it feel to be torn apart?
The feeling when I ripped your heart?
You can punch, slap or kick me away,
but there is something I have to say:

You can't break me.
No matter what you do.
You may be shady,
you may try to play me.
But I'm going to stand and fight.
Push you away with all my might.
Getting rid of the negative;
You're no longer my relative.

When I was sitting in the dark
you didn't give me any light.
You just added to the fright.
When I cried myself to sleep
you cast me away
like a little black sheep.
You may not realize this is to you,
but I need something
to pour my heart through.
One plus one,
that makes two.
But one thing that was never in the equation
was you.

You can't break me.
No matter what you do.
You may be shady,
you may try to play me.
But I'm going to stand and fight.
Push you away with all my might.
Getting rid of the negative;
you're no longer my relative.
