The Call of Wild

The call of the wild is stronger to me,

louder and more alluring than I thought it would be.

They covered my eyes and bound my feet,

they left me alone for the forest to greet.

I sat for days while the moss grew on me,

I thought for days  of the forest that sought me.

My legs went stiff and my skin turned gray.

Oh to be a mountain, I daily pray.

A rolling stone, I never will be.

Forever I sit, forget those who knew me.

For I am part of the earth,

my true mother from birth.

The call of the wild is stronger to me

louder and more alluring than I thought it would be

I fell for its call, as you clearly see,

For now the forest is a part of me.
