Burning Bright

Friends shape your life

They help you

They laugh with you

They are there for you at your worst

Until they leave.

Being a year younger

Has its ups

And its downs.

The ups were the laughs

The solved struggles

The expanding bonds

The closeness we all felt.

The down was the time

It wasn’t enough

They were away

Then they were really gone.

Now I am in their shoes.

I will be leaving the younger class within months

But I know it will be with love.

For the past year I have been making the most

I have been conducting the laughter

I have been the one who doesn’t have the time

I am the one who will leave

But I know I leave behind my mark

I leave behind my light

I abandon a blazing torch

Yet I know that flame will continue to grow

For in the past year,

It was I who learned,

That one needs to relax

And create the most

In the shortest time

That’s how I have evolved to who I am now

I have learned to not stress about every miniscule thing

I have learned to enjoy life

Because I am not a single person

I will have an effect on others

And that effect will be positive and bright
