My eyes are burning,
A family recipe of allergies and tears
They spill down my cheeks
They pool at my feet
I can’t stop it
I am no longer in control here
They go where they please
Why even try
I fall to my knees
To pray or to accept defeat
I’m not quite sure yet
Can you hear me?
I beg you to see me
I need you to see me, to hear me
Don’t fear me
Just hear me
Come near me
Even when the world is burning
