Burn

Am I allowed to disagree

To shake my head at society?

To know a different way alone.

To thrash down barriers made of stone.

Will you allow me to write a poem?

Our dead hearts it demands to show.

My whispered thoughts though now unknown

Are stretching and screaming - May they grow?

I will not restrict my hand

To pen its message across this land.

A path of ruin you will see

Tell me, is this allowed to be?

I do not fear

I know you hear.

Something powerful has begun,

A scourging fire from the sun.

The ever burning of the skies.

The ever burning of the skies.
