Bull's Eye
Location
I drudge myself to a range
where boys were buzzing
by the rifles
Fantasizing themselves as Cowboys
riding the long ride together
I tried my hand at the complex contraption
the trigger did not fit the palm of my hand
the butt was sharp against my shoulder
the barrel was long and I couldn't steady
It weighed me down
so every SHOT heard...
...miss.
I drudged myself away
with laughter behind me
'til I saw
sitting in a corner a simple thing
made of wood and string
it was light with curve unusual
yet it felt Natural in everyway
this gave me freedom
I loaded the arrow into the bow
and the room disappeared
the rhythm of my Heart was ancient
my Soul sang in a native tongue
Release...
and let the Spirit
fly
