Bruised and Broken

Bruised and broken

Was this all a game?

All the words that I had spoken

I guess I have to take the blame.

Scared and mortified in the dark

Sad and ashamed

You left your handprint on my heart

But left it scarred and pained.

You were my everything

And I thought I was yours

My heartstrings are broken

But with your new girl, yours are reassured.

So here I am, without your love

While you’re with her

My life without you will always be rough,

And you’ll never think back to what we once were.
