The Bronx

The Bronx is the best part of New York.

Located in the ghetto, plagued with poverty.

It seems as if violence rules the land and money is scarce,

but that's not all that's here.

Hip Hop lyrics and newly made Trap music flood the streets.

The tapping and chants of the steppers feet,

and loud hearty guffaws of bodega owners.

Walking out my house and being greeted with smiles from warm neighbours and strangers the same.

Looking around at this concrete jungle,

I can see the passion in her eyes, sparkling with love and admiration.

It's not a palace or gated community,

but it's where my heart is

The poorest in riches, but rich in spirit.

The Bronx,

my sweet home.
