A Broken System

Location

A broken system,

Thats all it is,

They're ment to teach us,

But really they only break us down when we dont add up,

How do you expect us to add up when we are surronded by the broken glass of who you want us to be,

One step and we get cut again,

Afraid to push ourselves for the fear of falling,

And if we do fall?

They don't dare help us pick ourseves up,

Because somehow its our fault,

We didn't try hard enough,

We weren't focused,

We didn't push ourselves,

We didn't take notes or study or do whtever else they told us,

But really,

We did,

We stay up all night losing sleep to try and wrap our heads around the concepts that you create,

Trying to absorb the information like sponges for the tests that seem to tell us if we failed or not,

The tests that tell us if we're stupid or not,

The tests that will show our grades like branding it straght onto our brain saying,

"Hey look you got an 'A' good for you! Work your ass off to keep it up."

Or

"Look an 'F' you must be some kind of idiot! Good luck doing anything with your life, stupid."

And when we lose sleep we slowly lose our minds,

Our worlds slowly collapse into a little ball of,

School, tests, work, grades,

Cause thats all that we become,

A letter on a page,

A,B,C,D,F,

Where do you fall?

And where they?

When we all got cut,

Stepping across the line,

Into the broken system.
