Broken Homes

Laying down brick by boring brick,

Walking step by lonely step,

The lies have been cemented in thick,

The foundation appears to stand strong.

Esteemed by our disgrace,

Loved for how we hate,

Our honesty is defaced,

How long will you waste away?

No one will examine a wounded thought,

Fix their fractured bones,

To what end will you wander?

We are just lost and all alone.

Who would cure a diseased soul?

Piece back together a shattered heart?

Just step down from you’re liar’s chair,

To see what’s tearing us all apart!

Working as the ceilings about to fall,

And every time it is shown,

We’ll always walk back to crumbling walls,

And back to our broken homes.
