Brick Wall

There's a brick wall that only we can see

and it's my fault that it came to be.

With a torch I set the bridge to flames

and then looked for someone else to blame.

I cut our connection,

giving me time for self-reflection,

and in myself, I still found no comprehension

of why I did just what I did

that knocked me so far out of grid.

And today I look back with such remorse and cry to myself as I read these letters,

all unendorsed.

I don't think I'll find another with a heart just as big

and until I do, my life will be an endless melancholy gig.

Everything will be a sad song

all because I chose wrong.

And even though we're only inches away from each other

to look at me, they still will not bother

because there is a brick wall that only we can see

and it's my fault that it came to be.
