Breakup

A message you’ve expected

But never came

Or came too late

Yet; it still mattered

And made you believe that he still cared.

The new year´s resolutions

You`ve written 2 years ago

How come they are still the same?

...................

The beautiful long black hair,

The gleaming, mincing eyes,

The petite figure,

The high-pitched and at times infuriating voice,

The polite but clumsy manners,

The weirdly colorful and ill-matched clothes,

The void jokes,

The “black and white” political stance

The fact that people were laughing behind your back

He admired and maybe even loved you

Primarily for your contradictions.

...................

A caress by a familiar hand

You´ve long awaited

And a smirk by a known face

You’ve long forgotten

Why cannot I bring him back into my life?

...................

A letter addressed to you

Carefully positioned on the verge of your nightstand.

Some scattered words

To justify his decision to move away.

A withered rose

Inside a half-filled glass of water

The static indicators of a clock

And the smell of rotten fruit.

Abandoned, betrayed, drunk

Full of youth and boldness though

   -  Rise before it is too late and conquer,

       Fight and win,

       Loose and stand up again.

He is long gone.
