The Boulder At My Ankle

Sun, 02/28/2016 - 17:00 -- bwag35

I sit here with this Boulder at my ankle

It grows and grows

This Boulder at my ankle

I try to break the shackle

I try to break the chain

Of this Boulder at my ankle

Day after day I drag it

I grow more and more weary

At this Boulder at my ankle

I cannot show it

It is my personal shame

This Boulder at my ankle

I try to cover it with a cloth

Its growing ever more

The Boulder at my ankle

I cannot hid it anymore

Everyone sees it

The Boulder at my ankle

The Boulder is now larger than me

I am caught in the shadow

Of the Boulder at my ankle

I cannot see sun

I cannot see hope

The Boulder at my ankle

It over takes

It over whelms

The Boulder at my ankle

This is my burden

This is my shame

The Boulder at my ankle
