This Boat is Sinking

Location

Our boat is sinking, and I hold tightly to it.

I tell you it will be alright. I tell you it may stay afloat.

Our boat is sinking, and I slide to the end.

I tell you it will be alright. I tell you to never let go of that railing.

Our boat is sinking, and my other hand lets loose. The thrashing waves pull me into the raging waters.

With my last breath, I tell you it will be alright. As my lungs fill with water, I tell you you will survive.

Our boat is sinking, and I am desperate to hear you say something to comfort me as well.

You say nothing, however. I still want to tell you it will be alright.

Our boat is sinking, and you are still holding onto that railing.

I want to tell you it will be alright.

Our boat is sinking, but you aren't.

I am drowning, and the weight of our boat crushes down on me and tears me into pieces as I do.

Selfish bastard.
