Blue the Drum

Blue.

Blue the drum, pitch and pang,

Steel-stain rim, resounding clang.

That which stirs the thoughts and actions.

Haunting sorrow, dire factions,

Resounding near, far and wide.

Console the soul and mend cracked might.

Blue the river, streams of tears,

Of joy and mourn, of lasting fears.

The love of Life and pain of Death;

Those left behind search what is left:

Among the wreckage, shattered dreams,

A teaching taught and guidence gleaned.

Blue the wind, the crisp, clear air,

To sweep the soul over mountains fair.

Soaring up and higher still,

Unbound by chains, untethered will.

Unto the specks of starlit light,

Slipping away into the night.
