Blankets
On a cold winters night, you carry my burden out of love
Denounced is my strength and defenses
The warmth of the embrace with a receiving end
I am at the mercy of your hugs
The bed creaks yet still supports
You are my father
The mattress flaccid but still bouncy
You are my sister
The blankets layered like croissants
You are my mother
You are my family
None like the others
This poem is about:
Me
My family
