Kill the hope that just started to grow again,
The forgotten smile now dead
With nothing more than utter numbness
And the knife dripping with blood still fresh.
Slowly sinking into the bitter darkness,
No last glance; it’s always the same,
Cold; emotionless expression; the flame disappears.
Shutting all gates; no more chances,
Eyes tell of a joyful time long ago,
With carved stones marking historic moments,
And heavy chains winding around; firmly binding, locking.
In the distance, a faint flicker; gone –
Darkness all around and again, longer –
A slow heart beat that soon picks up a faint beat
Then a strike and sparks fly;
A heart that heard another just as faint - call, singing, new song.
