Black Woman
Location
I am being trapped by my butt, my breast, and my legs
both races black and white simotaneously stare me down.
Rather you believe it or not they're both thinking the same thing. No I am not a black queen that they are imagining in their sick dreams, but i am to them whatever they imagine me to be.
I am a black queen lost in her mothers wound long ago, and as I try to scratch my way through her thick skin, red liquid fills my palms and as I put my ear to the inside of her belly, I can hear her screaming.
I am God's angel sent down just like Jesus was
My grandmothers pearls rapped around my neck symbolizes the halo that lies above my head… I am Strong, Proud
I am not bound by my breast or my butt, my only tribute to this world is not holding babies between my legs, I am a Black Woman
I stand for everywoman who has been rapped, molested, shot, or stabbed
And if i fall while I'm on my quest to protest, i will rise like Martin, Speak like Malcom, fight like Muhammad but i will hold peace like Gundy.
Women today are defined by the wrong things.
Define me as strong, proud, beautiful… but those words you are not aware of
Maybe if i die then this queen i imagine will then be resurrected and my tears won't go to waste but still the black and white man stand there and stare and out of me comes words.
Stop staring at me i yelled, scared that they might come after me like my father did my mother
Holding her hands out and tore open her legs and wether he knew it or not every time he went and came out, he was taking life out of her.
I hate you! i seemed to yell, staring at those two men who seem to be closer than before.. i hate you!
but my hate wasn't just towards those men, it was towards all men who had the nerve to beat, rape, or verbally hurt women
Don't you realize that a woman is the key to your existence? and so bad i wanted to run but realized i had to stand.
Then, being a woman and acting like a lady got me nowhere so i must act like a man.
I will speak verbally and direct you in my sentences.
I will curse, i will scream, I will demand.
I'm a woman, i want respect, does that many anything?
Women today are not defined by their beauty but by their assets that tend to intrigue men. This mic is not a dildo so your going to have to cum a little harder than that, this is poetry not rap, this truth so take is that
If my breast is what makes me a woman, then cut off my breast, give me sword bare it upon my chest
If my butt is what makes me a woman, then shield my body with the word of God and let no man get the satisfaction of even thinking he can have me.
If my crouch is what makes me a woman, then stitch my walls together sending all those I'm sorry letters.
Now that all that is gone, what am I ?
If my shape is what makes me a woman, then sculpt me like a mountain
For once take your eyes off my butt and listen to my voice, watch the beautiful expressions design themselves upon my face, we are more than women with just butt, breasts, and legs. We are women with beauty, pride, strength and determination. We are the sour to a mans existence
We are Black Women.
