Black Hoodie
I’m chillin in my black hoodie
You know what that means
It’s time for me to prepare for unnecessary stops, searches, and frisking
They know I’m always clean
But they check , check, check because man those cops are mean
I walk a few blocks with my black hoodie
Man the cops stop, they shout “spread your legs for me”
They know I’m always clean
But they check, check, check because man those cops are mean
I nod my head to my white counterparts
Everybody knows they’re the drug dealers but they’ll never see the courts
Being of lighter skin gives them an advantage we all can see
The very next day, it’s cold outside I wear my black hoodie and am prepared for the day
Once again those same ole’ cops come my way
“You look a lil nervous” they say I reply “man yall know I’m clean”
But they check, check, check because I am caged and will never be free
