Black History

African Americans

African Americans

Strong people with a lot of faith

White folks discriminate

We’re all one but yet we are chastised for being black

Why call us colored when we don’t change shades with our emotions

School system is crippling the blacks

White folks education is better

Nothing is ever equal

Yet we walk around as if things have really gotten better

Racism still floats around in the air

M.L.K died for a reason

The N word is used without care

We need a solution

But there seems to be no resolution

We are too smart for our own good

Oh how times have changed

With the years came new laws to separate

But in a different way

Jim Crow is still in effect

Haven’t you read it yet?

Crooked cops

Jails overflowing with minorities

No way to stop the way things are going

We live in our minds

Turning blind eyes to the truth

Dreaming to make it in America

Blacks acting like crabs in a bucket

No support

More stress

Sweating in this day and age

Just leads to death

Which is just as bad as suffocating from our suffering

Since no one seems to care

That our struggle is real
