Black Hearts Bleed Red

Black hearts bleed red

I would know

For there is a sword in mine

It glistens ike embers when I turn to the sun

And it's red blood twinkles as it drips

As if the drops are falling stars

Black hearts bleed red

But only until they bleed so much that they run cold

Heat it again and it's just stale

It isn't fire after that

It doesn't burn

Now some may be surprised when they hear such strong words for such an unfeeling thing

"Black hearts can't bleed.", they say

"Nothing can pierce them. They don't feel."

For all those who are ignorant to the dynamics of such a complex creature

Allow me to let you in on a little secret

Black hearts do indeed bleed red

A red that is inky, steady, glistening, and strong like steel

Black hearts, when pierced when shattered, when ripped open, when set ablaze and then left to run dry...

Do indeed, bleed the most fiery and passionate of reds
