BINGO

BINGO
BY MIRA WILDER

Whitey looked in his pockets
to see where he mis-pent his youth
all he found was a dime
and the number I-3
from the Church of Conceptual Truth

It was then he was born to love Jesus
in the rectory room they would play
B-52 Hallelujah
On Saturday night
they would pray
I-23 Thank you Jesus
N-34 praise the Lord
G-17 is a winner
O-54 what a score

Playing Bingo Bingo
one letter short of a miracle
its not a sin
lord please let me win
playing Bingo at church tonight
B-52
I-23
N-34
G-THIS IS GREAT
O O O SWEET JESUS
Make me a winner tonight!

Whitey
was lucky
winning more often than not
but when
he hit the jackpot

the jackpot
hit him right back.

He loved to throw parties
that lasted a week
Hundred dollar shoes
on his 5 dollar feet

liquor and candy
dressed like a dandy
just one more card would do
the next calls a winner
Lets all go to dinner
but too bad

he never won
singing...

B-beautiful numbers from heaven
I-might be rich if I tried
N-Maybe this time I'll be a winner
G- won't you please be my guide
O- praise the lord I never get bored
I'll Stop in a church tonight playin
Bingo Bingo bingo Bingo
B 52
I 23
N 17
G this is great
O O O
make me a winner tonight!
