The Bi Girl’s Burden- Response to Rudyard Kipling
Take up the bi girl’s burden
Send forth the best you’ve got
Go tell your daughters all them lies
And make them feel like they’ve been bought
To wait in heavy harness
All cold and all alone
Lock them up in heavy chains
And hear them while they groan
Take up the bi girl’s burden
Your lies may still abide
Feed them with your hateful words
And rob them of their pride
And when they’re broken and battered
And can no longer weep
You take your knife and cut them dry
And watch their tears run deep
Take up the bi girl’s burden
Watch her grow up strong and weak
Because her mom was blamed for none
And her dad had let her walk free
She took up the fight against humanity
And she did not suffer from insanity
Their words were thrown from left and right
And not once did she lose what’s in sight
Take up the bi girl’s burden
Watch how she leaps and grows
And flies away from those who know
And make her feel less grown
There are those who have hurt and betrayed her
And made her feel less tall
So wherever she looks
She never has anyone to call
Take up the bi girl’s burden
And make yourself feel shame
Because you have tried to break her pride
And yet you feel the same
You have watched her cry and weep
But like a bird she’ll rise
From those whose hatred runs deep
Take up the bi girl’s burden
Because her show is not over yet
Even when you’ve treated her like trash
She’s still a force you’ve never met
Take her word for she has said
Her story will be heard once again
Take up the bi girl’s burden
Because she sings with fearful trill
She has scared you with her prowess
She has scared you with her will
And when you least expect it
She will scare you with her wit
