But as an Haitian American, it does not phase me. If I did not fit these stereotypes, why should it matter?

I know that people of my kind can be self-reliant and contribute great things to this world,

Whether if it’s music, a creative talent, and especially food!

I blew the minds of those who did not know I was Haitian. "But she's so pretty!" Of course I am, what was I suppose to look like? "Are you sure you aren't mixed?" Are you forreal? I'm Haitian! Straight like that! To top it off, I dabble in the arts. My mission is to have my creativity and orginality explode all over the world. Being Haitian to me is like being fed by the top chefs in the country.

Being Haitian is like being at a front row seat at a stand up comedy show.

Being Haitian is knowing how to be independent and making the best out of yourself.
