Belonging

Belonging

A room
Creating worlds of diversity
One side
Conveying thoughts of inferiority
The others
Placing thoughts of fellow men
Outside;
They turn and rend

Tearing through
The paper hearts of those too weak
To fight
To speak what’s on their mind to speak
Injustice
May be too prevalent a term
While inside
The tortured ones, hidden out of fear, tears burn

Love
Replaced by selfish hate

Kindness

Portrayed instead by harshness
Sharing
Presented not, only feelings of greed
Inclusion
Unheard of, only the best are welcome

Who started it?

Who said all are not loved?

Who claimed only a few are important?

Who placed themselves as judge?

Who said they aren’t wrong?

Who claims perfection?

Who knows

But each is loved

Each is special and important

Those wrong have a higher Judge

Those wronged will be vindicated

Those trampled will be uplifted

Justice will come, both for the just and the unjust

Love will always be there, a free never-ending gift

Kindness will never cease, though it seems invisible most times

Compassion will not stop as long as people give—

Freely, willingly, without expecting return

And knowing it was all for a very special reason

Because

Every one matters
