Beliefs

By myself,

All alone.

A terrifying concept

The idea that

                Freedom

                              Power

Couldn’t save me now.

Being alone,

That’s what hurts.

But if I were,

All alone,

My beliefs would be

What I hold

Dear to my heart.

My

                Love

                                Pain

                                                Memories

                                                                Knowledge

Would save me.

I would fight

For the survival

Of my own thoughts.

I would hold them

Dear to my heart

So that in the future

I don’t forget.

I remember.

I learn from it.

I harbor the cost of my own pain

To keep the memories alive,

To keep my beliefs,

And to survive alone.
