Being different

Asking me why I write is like asking me why I live
Because I was born in a city of gangs, crime, blood
I can't expect anything better,
If I ever go back to the hood
Here's to being different,
Because my words have taught me how to forgive
I write to inspire, to teach others and myself,
To have a voice
I was born on dirty streets,
But they inspired me to raise myself with poise
A pen and paper is all I need,
To write down everything you need to know about me..
Because I am different.., and I raise my glass to you
And I invite you to my life that is poetry
Goodbye and happy writing to you too
