Behind the Ivy Leaves

Behind the ivy leaves is where I again find

A small door. I crawl through on my second trial-

I thought this was all in my puzzled mind

Until I see the Chesire Cat's familiar smile.

I look to the rabbit to show me the way-

Glancing at his watch, worrying about the time

"I'm late, I'm late" I always hear him say...

As I sit there wondering why my thoughts rhyme

I continue through the woods, stopping at a house very old

It is here that I meet the Hatter, his eyes wide and alive.

He offers me tea with a personality so bold-

Others begin to arrive, fighting each as if to strive

In a land with more characters than fish in the sea-

I finally found a world where the weird one isn't me!
