Behind Her Walls
Cheerful smiles shine bright
Nothing seems to bring her down
Rarely is she hurt
Friends always by her
Loved by all and feared by none
She'd never hurt a fly
A careless, free soul
Beautiful as wildflowers
Shame she's not the same
Hatred fills her mind
Starting to trust slim to none
She hides from their words
Being backstabbed hurts
It ruins a persons mind
Trust is no longer there
She builds her fortress
Hides from their sharp, painful words
Bottling it up
Self-esteem near gone
The world judges, she believes
She no longer speaks
They will ask what's wrong
"You are only curious,"
They ruined her thoughts
She once noticed Him
His eyes filled with the same hate
He understood her
Slowly her wall broke
Allowing him to be near
Accepting his thoughts
Judging, he did not
She listened to his kind words
Darkness slowing melts
He shows her the light
Her eyes, now so full of life
That day changed her fate
As they stand by the abyss
She holds a match with a grin
He looks in her eyes
As she flicks her wrist
The glowing stick spirals down
Burning the darkness
She looks down with tears
Though a smile slowly appears
Her pain burns away
Her yesterdays gone
Nothing left but ash and dust
She sighs in relief
They watched her walls melt
Burning quickly at her feet
Slowly, the pain fades
Her dark heart now warm
Putting her past fears to rest
Her shattered heart, fixed
Her eyes glistened bright
His love brightened her small world
She now knew herelf
"It's never the end,"
"You, my love, should know of this,"
"Break through your sorrow,"
"I will be with you,"
"Patching the holes in your heart,"
"I gave you my part,"
"I will fight for you."
"You are mine to watch over,"
"I'll protect your soul."
Her pain is now gone
Chains no longer hold her back
She is free again
She is peace and love
People spit and put her down
But she still loves them
She no longer breaks
For He is always with her
She now loves herself
Go seek the flower child
With blue eyes, calm and loving
And you shall know peace
