Beguiled

Psalm 32:2

How blessed is the one whose wrongdoing the Lord does not punish,
in whose spirit there is no deceit.

Beguiled

It is so easily done ... it overtakes you quietly

To others like a banner polluting your house

A white flag of surrender ... waving silently

as it appears like a hunger for Santa Claus

Many signs given ... but almost none accepted

Children warned against the danger of the day

No ears to listen and so in blindness overtaken

Slightly misfired are these brittle jars of clay

Folks left that what was not worth the keeping

Just clinging desperately to the threads of time

It did not take too long as darkness was reaping

the religious in the church ... few left to mourn and cry

It seems now part of history and who does remember?

Almost like a fading illusion that disappears into the night

Remembrance of a ghost ship where for one night I seemed the captain

Then to never wanted to lead again ... defeated and despised

Now I am left by myself without a paddle in a little dingy

Floating in the sea of life surrounded by gigantic boats

I fish here and there a little with bait now so much purer

with a rod molded by the Word and a line of love and hope
