Because I loved you

Because I loved you

I kept quite

Because I loved you

I didn’t fight it

Because I loved you

I did what he said

When he said it

Because I loved you

I am    one    in five women

Because I loved you

I can’t stand to look at myself

Because I loved you

I cry myself to sleep

Every. Single. Night.

Because I loved

I’m just an object

Because I loved you

my life was ruined

Love blinded my sight

And let my ears

Choose what to believe

All Because I thought

“I love you”

was more believable

Than what you did to me

But now

I love you

Someone who would never use me

Someone who loves me too

And Because he loves me

He would never ravage me

Because he loves me

He promises to never let it happen again

Because he loves me

I feel safe

Because he loves me

He understands when I say “no”

Because he loves me

He gives me everything I could want

Because he loves me

I am no longer broken

Over 310,000 people in the United States suffer from sexual abuse. Don’t let yourself be one. Don’t let “I love you” be an excuse.
