Because I love you

Because I love you, I stay when you tell me to go

because love is a choice, and anywhere without you is a place I don't want to know.

Because I love you, I will reassure you that you're enough for me everyday

becaue without you life would be like a dormant tree in the winter, cold and lonely.

When negative thoughts slip through like putty in your hands

I will hold you, and kiss them away, all because I love you.

Our love is like fireworks,

but sometimes it feels like matches, lit one minute and out the next.

Because I love you, I will be the matchbox to keep it going,

like the waves in the ocean rippling through the tides.

Because I love you, I trust you

I want you to know that you can trust me too,

trust me to right my wrongs,

I trust you to accept my flaws and all, as I would you.

Just know that because I love you, I want the best for you

watering each other like plants, watching us grow together.

Because im so in love with you, I want eternity with you, a forever.

I didn't just write this poem to enter for a scholarship, I wrote it for my future husband whoever that may be. I want them to know that I will be there through thick and thin because love is more than just 4 words, it is actions.
