Because I love you

BECAUSE I LOVE YOU

Words, meanings, and my convictions struggle to describe your existence – your reality

I seek your acknowledgment as surely as night seeks the dawn

I am comforted when I see you

I absorb any glance like dry earth drinks the rain,

I am speechless to acknowledge your glance – such is your power

The depths of your eyes paralyze me - I am in a place that contains only us as I watch you

You are away from me, but I feel the gap closing

I fear your rejection – I yearn for your trust

Your strength and beauty dominate every thought and action

It has already been decided for me that you will be part of my life forever

I go where it takes me with hope and wonder, without fully understanding the journey

Vaguely certain where we will be, I struggle through the process

Time escapes as thoughts grow stronger and we begin to see each other

The challenge grows, then weakens, then grows stronger

Until finally, we hold each other for the first time

I am at helplessly at ease to your touch

I fumble, I struggle to understand

It is there before me, but I somehow and willfully avoid the obvious

You are lost to me but return

Each time the fear of loss becomes stronger

Each time the bond yet strengthens until the path straightens and becomes clear

I will never let go if I am lucky enough to share my life with you

Time grows us until we are one

My life is committed to you and you alone

It is the eternal price I gratefully pay

I will guard you from peril always

I will continue to melt in your arms when you smile

I will try to insure that we laugh more than we cry

For now we love

In peace, and forever

Because I love you
