Beauty and the Beast

USED TO BE:

There was a time, long ago and far… far away

When my life, was drab… dreary and gray

THEN:

I met, an animal lover Princess… a human named Griffith

Upon whom every, creature her compassion, and… kindness spillith

AS SHE:

Rescues all kinds, children, cats, even… correspondent xanthochroids

With her, Herculean spirit, there’s… nothing she avoids

AND NOW:

I sleep at, night, contented smile upon… my face

Dreaming of her, in satin, and… angel lace

MUTUAL REWARDS:

Cold, lonely nights, are over, toes snuggle… to furr

Your feet and, I curl up to my… contented purr

WHO I WAS:

A nomad, chasing field mice, I… used to do

When not, playing with a friend… or two

WHO I AM:

Now docile, domesticated am I, living… in your home

As my wild, and roaming days… are gone

WHO YOU ARE:

Animal lover, from the heart… you see

Empathy, encompassing all life forms… from A to Z

WHO WE ARE:

A tom-cat, at home with a princess… of human-kind

Beauty and the Beast we are… of one mind
